Crime Scene
Decontamination
Were you aware that the police, fire department, EMS, or the medical
examiners office DO NOT clean up a crime or trauma scene . When a
violent crime occurs, most people think that law enforcement
officers clean up the crime scene. However, the truth of the matter
is that the responsibility falls on the homeowner.
Crime-scene
clean-up is a niche market within the cleaning industry. It's called
CTS Decon -- crime and trauma scene decontamination -- and it
involves cleaning up dangerous material. This could mean the
biologically contaminated scene of a violent death (homicide Suicide
or accidental).
Decontamination Specialists hope to ease the burden of the
homeowner by providing qualified Specialists to clean and sanitize
their home after a murder, suicide, or other violent crime.
MASU’S CRIME SCENE DECONTAMINATION is here for you in your time of
need. After a murder, suicide, or violent crime occurs there are so
many things to think about.
Let us take one thing off your mind
by handling the clean up and disinfecting of any biohazardous
materials in your home or business.
We do not feel the families of any
type of trauma need to be left with the restoration of the scene.
This only traumatizes the person over again, leaving them less time
to begin the grieving process. We offer a highly competent service
specializing in suicide clean up, trauma clean up, biohazard waste,
and environmental clean up. We specialize in clean up and
decontamination services that remedy the scenes of traumatic events
involving blood and body fluids. Our services also include the clean
up of situations involving gross filth. Our employees are
trained of OSHA standards as well as federal regulations pertaining
to the clean up, decontamination, and disposal of potentially
infectious materials.

Cleaning up after a murder outside an apartment complex
It
is often not known that bloodborne pathogens and bacteria can linger
for days after death and should be handled only by professionals. We
at MASU’S CRIME SCENE DECONTAMINATION take special precautions to
protect ourselves and others when we enter a facility where trauma
has occurred. Do not get your business into trouble or have problems
with your property by having untrained and improperly protected
staff clean up these hazardous environments. The janitor, maid, or
other cleaners cannot legally clean up these hazards with out the
proper training, experience, and protection.
Victims' families
shouldn't have to clean it up. MASU’S CRIME SCENE DECONTAMINATION
offers the highest level of discretion, unlike other cleanup
companies, we will not discuss any case with the media or press. We
do more than just take pictures…
Many residents and
business owners wants to know if the cleaning costs are covered by
insurance, and the answer is YES. The services provided by
Decontamination Specialists are usually covered by the homeowner’s
insurance policy. Most families are not aware that homeowners
insurance will pay for crime scene cleanup services .
-
Most bio-hazardous material decontamination and clean up is
covered under a motor vehicle, homeowners, or business insurance
policy. Normally there is no payment due at time of service,
however the property owner can arrange for a full payment at time
of service at their discretion.
-
-
Provided that the insurance company covers the costs of the
bio-hazard decontamination the property owner is normally only
responsible for their deductible. The deductible can be billed or
it can be paid at the time of service.
-
-
Of
course, any property owner can decide to pay the cost of
decontamination without filing a claim with their insurance
company if desired.
Extra info Regulations about Crime Scene Decontamination
There are no national regulations for the CTS Decon industry, but
there are organizations that promote standards as well as certain
government regulations that Crime Scene cleaners have to follow,
including the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards, which are
guidelines for handling biohazardous material and the proper use of
personal protection equipment, and individual state guidelines for
crime-scene clean-up.
When a violent death occurs in someone's home, the family typically
doesn't move out of the house. The Crime Scene cleaners' job is to
remove any sign of what happened and any biohazards that result from
such an incident. Federal regulations deem all bodily fluids to be
biohazards, so any blood or tissue at a crime scene is considered a
potential source of infection. You need special knowledge to safely
handle biohazardous material and to know what to look for at the
scene -- for instance, if there's a thumbnail-size bloodstain on the
carpet, there's a good chance that there's a 2-foot-diameter
bloodstain on the floorboards underneath it. You can't just clean
the carpet and call it a day. You also need permits to transport and
dispose of biohazardous waste.
Companies that clean up crime scenes have all of the necessary
permits, training and, perhaps most important, willingness to handle
material that would send most of us running out the door to
vomiting in to the bushes.
It
is so important for people to know that there is a service like ours
out there. No one should be left with the remnants of a tragic death
in their home or business. It is our goal to always provide a
professional service
Since professionalism is very important to us, we always adhere to
O.S.H.A., and State Health Department guidelines and procedures. Our
technicians are highly trained in how to properly remove, package
and dispose of biohazardous waste. They have also been trained in
how to approach and preserve a crime scene should additional
evidence be discovered. Our service is equipped and ready to respond
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Once summoned to a
scene, whether commercial, industrial, residential or auto, our
technicians will evaluate the extent of the damage and prepare a
written proposal. When our proposal is accepted, we immediately
begin the restoration procedures. We clean, disinfect all affected
areas along with proper disposal. All biohazardous waste is disposed
of through a federally licensed waste company.
When structural damage is involved, our services are not limited to
cleaning, disinfecting, and removal. We offer complete restoration,
structural, drywall, painting, etc. At the conclusion of the
abatement/restoration process.
MASU’S CRIME SCENE DECONTAMINATION will handle all aspects of the
job from start to finish. It is our goal to always provide a
professional service.
